Last weekend the girls and I met up for our annual Christmas night out which we have been doing since we where 15. Every year we pick a different restaurant, organise the secret Santa and party the night away. It is even more so special now, due to us all living in different cities, and unfortunately for Harriet and Kat now living in the southern hemisphere, they were unable to attend. This year we headed to Brighton Proud ballroom, and had a gorgeous 3 course meal, whilst we were entertained by burlesque dancing, and an act that involved hula hoops, nipple tassels, and not much else. We even learnt a dance routine to One Direction. You don't get much better than that. Thanks girlies.

the girls

DSC01206

Us girls have been besties since the middle of High School (although the majority of us have known each other separately since we where 7) and over the years it has got increasingly harder to get us all together at one time. With some of us travelling, moving around the country and starting their own families it is very hard to get us together as a group of 8.
Last Saturday we finally managed to get everyone together, for one last time, and we have no idea when we will be all together again (which makes me sad) one lady is immigrating to New Zealand and another is going to live in Australia for a few years. These are the girls I grew up with, shared my secrets with and laughed and cried the hardest with. We made a promise that after school we would still be friends, and nearly 9 years on, we have all made the effort with summer holidays, weekends away, dinners and nights in, been there for one another when times were hard and had a right old laugh in the process. Although I know this isn’t the end, it feels like a new era is upon us, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring.
Until the next time....
Love you all

Notting Hill Carnival

This past weekend the legendary Notting Hill Carnival took place in London, and as we enjoyed ourselves so much last year we headed back up, for a day of dancing, eating and of course drinking. We spent the day strolling the streets and watching the parade, raving on street corners and indulging the jerk chicken. We headed back to our hotel early evening, to freshen up and head out into Soho for a well-deserved night out. We headed to La Bodega Negra for dinner (which I highly recommend if your after something of the beaten track) and on to party till the early hours. London, we love you.

Garden Party

This past weekend was for partying, seeing friends, eating party food and catching up. We spent saturday afternoon sunning ourselves, or should I say, baking ourselves in the garden, before tucking into my homemade tea party. We drank homemade cocktails, delved into party bags and then hit the town for a much needed boogie. Although we weren't quite all together for the photo, it's the best we have managed in years.

I love you weekend

oh yes, I do, especially when I get to spend it with my favourites and generally having a right old laugh. Friday night brought the start of the Olympics (which I must add I am obsessed with) where we watched with Pimms, pizza and happy, happy faces.
On saturday the girls and I travelled to London for a well deserved night out, and a long overdue catch up.

We headed out in Clapham, which involved far to much drink, falling over and dancing till 3am in the morning.

We woke 4 hours later, with dry mouths and banging heads, so headed out for our hangover cure.

When that didn't work, we tried again with the best scrambled eggs from Brew.

Feeling slightly better, and very full we cheered on Britain in the woman's gymnastics, before heading home.

(obligatory train platform shot)

To then come home and find the world ending, or Voldemort and the death eaters coming to get us muggles. (something like that)

So all in all, not a bad weekend (but lack of photos to prove)

The end.

weekend treats

As expected my Saturday was full of eating lots of goodies, and seriously stuffing my face with the most amazing hog roast. I did learn one thing though; do not start drinking to early in the evening, and also pace yourself. 2 bottles of wine before dinner wasn't my best idea, but I certainly had a blast.

p.s happy birthday Ed. I can't believe you are actually 21. I remember when you where this big....blah blah

over the weekend

Time flies when you're having fun doesn't it? We managed to cram in loads over the weekend, and to top it off it didn't even rain {down south anyway} I managed to see friends, family and spend quality time with my man {sorry I couldn't resist, I don't normally call him that}we had a fun filled day in London with our good friends Lauren and Sam. We had our first experience on the Boris bikes and took a spot of culture in at the Tate Gallery. We also revisited Byron for their melt in your mouth burgers {I definitely shouldn't be writing this whilst I am starving *groan*}the weekend was topped off taking in the nice weather along the coast from Brighton.

*note Sunday was my turn for date day. I was supposed to take Si rock pooling, but because my brain won't let me do anything right, we turned up when it was high tide. I am the worst.
