a birthday

DSC01513

Yesterday we celebrated Si's 25th Birthday. I honestly don't know where the time has gone. We started dating the week he turned 18, and a lot has happened since then! but we made it! We are here at the grand old age of 25 (for some reason I really see this age as a big deal, like come on we are 25!!)

ahhh, anyway, we celebrated the day with birthday croissants, special pack lunches, party hats, presents, cake and lots of spicy food. Oh and a few glasses of vino for good measure!

Happy Birthday (for yesterday) my love, I never imagined back then that I would be celebrating this birthday with you, but my god, I am so glad we are. I love you so very much! Until the next one x

weekend treats

As expected my Saturday was full of eating lots of goodies, and seriously stuffing my face with the most amazing hog roast. I did learn one thing though; do not start drinking to early in the evening, and also pace yourself. 2 bottles of wine before dinner wasn't my best idea, but I certainly had a blast.

p.s happy birthday Ed. I can't believe you are actually 21. I remember when you where this big....blah blah

(and please excuse the random pencil on the floor, like really?)

So it was my 24th Birthday yesterday, and I was the lucky girl who was taken out on Friday night by Si, to find he had arranged a lovely surprise meal with friends. {this is what I wore ^) we dined at a cute little tapas restaurant in the lanes in Brighton called Casa Don Carlos. I had always wanted to go, and it is perfect when you have a group of friends together to try out lots of dishes. I managed to eat way to much and food and just a tad to much sangria. It was a perfect night out with my close friends and Si. (so thanks to everyone that came)
So yesterday was my actual birthday and I spent the morning opening pressies, indulging in breakfast in bed and dancing to one direction on the bed. Honestly there is no better way to start your day. We then went into town and spent the afternoon mooching around the lanes, and eating far to much Italian. I also have to mention that for some un beknown reason I ended up finishing my birthday watching The Human centipede. My friends, this is a sick, sadistic and, well plain disgusting film. I do not want to go into it, so if you don't know what it is, I suggest you google it. So other than that my birthday was AWESOME. Here's to the next one...

girl time

I spent the weekend in London with my lovely jubbly friends for 'Harriet's' Birthday. We drank loads, reminisced, sang a lot, gossiped, ate loads and generally had a fantastic time together.
AND IT SNOWED. YIPPEE!

I'm afraid there is no snow related, drunken mess mishaps to report on though.

How was everyone's weekend?

Travel Series: Edinburgh

So they other week I surprised Si, and took him away to Edinburgh for the weekend to celebrate his 24th birthday. We spent a cold and blustery few days checking out all the museums, walking around the shops and indulging in plentiful food and drink. It was lovely to get away for the weekend, and to leave all our work troubles behind {not that I really have any} I also got to meet up with some of my family who live in Edinburgh (I am half Scottish you see) and took the first opportunity to use our new video camera {which actually involves a lot of drunk ramblings, and Si eating his birthday cake at 1am in the morning}
It is such a short flight, and a very reasonable price if you get it booked up early {I only paid £100 return for both of us} and it’s actually nice to be able to carry on using British currency, instead of all the hassle to change currencies {yawn}
I am sure I will be visiting again soon, and maybe next time for the world renowned comedy festival...

highs and lows

high
Afternoon tea, I just can’t get enough of it. We decided to be civilised and grown up {cough cough} and celebrated Zoey’s 24th with a trip to The Grand Hotel, along Brighton seafront. We also had baby Freddie in tow, for his first {of many} girlie gatherings. The mellow sounds of the piano played in the background, whilst we caught up on the gossip, sipped tea and ate bundles of cakes. I had just about got over my awful hangover from the night before, so scoffed down plenty of cucumber sandwiches and scones.

Low
No Sunday run for me this weekend though {slaps wrist} I was incredibly hung-over and the thought of eating, let alone moving was enough to make me feel sick. I blame the restaurant/bar we ate in the night before. No seriously I do. I was going to post a review about the evening’s meal etc, but it was so terrible, so I will post a quick rant. We ate in Madame Geisha, down the lanes in Brighton.

We did bear in mind we booked under a Groupon voucher, but, you still expect your food to be cooked, right? After waiting a time for our starters, they brought us over a complimentary cocktail {our 3rd of the night} due to the delay in our food. When our mains finally came out, we took a few bites, and then I spotted a huge piece of pink chicken in my Thai green curry. We noticed Si’s meal was the same, so we immediately sent them back {the first time I have ever had to do that in my life} round 2 came. Pink again. We couldn’t actually believe it, so we refused to have the food or anything else for that matter {bear in mind, I wouldn’t normally say boo to a goose, as I don’t like confrontation or complaining} so they obliged and took the food away. We had a problem though, normally you would just not pay for the food, but we had already paid via Groupon. So we reached a solution that we would swap the food for alcohol, and ended up partying in the bar/club section with free cocktails, shots and bottles of wine, ON AN EMTPY STOMACH. Urrrghhhhh, I did not feel good when I got home or in the morning. So, yes I do blame the restaurant {you believe me right?} I leave you with some life advice that I hope you carry with you from now on...
1.      DON’T eat at Madame Geisha, Brighton
2.      DON’T drink on an empty stomach {I can’t believe no one ever told me before}
