Did you
know I used to be allergic to boys? Like it was an actual disease and if any
boy got too close, I would break out in big pussy green spots, hyperventilate
and struggle to breath. Nah, only joking but I did go through a stage of not
wanting to be near any boys what so ever. My friends and I would run around the
playground holding our arms in a cross shouting ‘we hate boys, don’t come
closer’ gosh I was such a hoot when I was 9. I was a chav before chavs even existed.
I was a total tom boy and for some un-beknown reason I was always being asked
out by other boys in the playground. I was too busy to worry about having a
boyfriend you would never actually talk to, and maybe hold hands with just once
in the playground without exchanging glances, to then be dumped via his best
mate. Oh no I was too busy making up secret clubs and games with the girls I
had way more important things on my mind, like appointing myself leader of the ‘S
gang’ {okay so it was just myself and Sammi who where members- S gang- do you
get it?} and running ‘The Dolphin hotel’ all by myself from my bedroom/reception.
Wow I loved imaginary games. But what I love is that I haven’t totally grown
out of being a kid, and I think that’s what keeps me grounded and on top of things.
I’m kinda glad I had a ‘boy disease’ growing up; I think it’s made me a better
person and girlfriend for it.

homemade wagamamas
If you happen to love noodles and Wagamamas like me, then you are in for a treat. Today I have a very easy replica version off my favourite dish, Beef teriyaki Soba.
{for 2 people}
Meat
1 large sirloin steak {or 2 small}
Veg
1 red chilli
1 large red onion
2 pak choi
small bunch of coriander
handful of mange tout
handful of bean sprouts
small amount of sesame seeds
2-3 bunches of soba noodles
{these are not essential, egg noodles can be used as a replacement}
Jar of teriyaki sauce
{From any leading supermarkets - or you can get wagamamas own from waitrose}
Here we go then, your will be sitting down eating away in just 20 mins,
1. Prepare all the veg-
- finely cut the chilli and onion
- cut the mange-tout into small pieces
- finely chop 3/4 of the coriander
- peel back the layers of the pak choi
The trick is to get the timing perfect, this is something I struggle with and the kitchen ends up looking a mess, but we only learn right?
2. Boil the kettle, ready for the noodles
3. Place a frying pan on a low heat with a drizzle of oil, ready for the meat
4. and finally place the wok on a medium heat, again with some oil and add the chillies. Fry for 3-4 minutes
5. Then add the onions and mange tout
6. Fry these off for about 5 minutes and get ready to start cooking your meat. I prefer my meat medium, but go with what you like. Here is a quick guide.
rare - 1 1/2 mins each side
medium - 3 mins each side
well done - 4 mins each side
I always brush some of the teriyake sauce over both sides off the steak to add to the flavours.
7. You now need to add your noodles to the boiling water, and cook to package instruction {normally about 5 minutes}

8. Start to fry your meat {cooking times above}
9. Add the remaining veg. Pak Choi, coriander and bean sprouts and give it a good old stir. Also remember to keep stirring the noodles
10. Once your noodles are done, drain and place immediately under cold water. Then transfer back into the wok.
11. Add the teriyaki sauce, mix it all together and simmer, whilst you prepare your meat.
12. It really is up to you how your serve your meat, but I like mine to look exactly like the real deal, so I cut my steak up ready for serving.
13. Nearly there, I promise. Place your noodles on a plate, and neatly pile the steak on top. Sprinkle the remaining coriander and sesame seeds on top to create your very own Wagamamas. Now tuck in, enjoy. You won't need to leave the house for noodles again :)
and why not cook some spring rolls to accompany?
*note* this can also be cooked with salmon instead of beef. Follow the same instructions, but the salmon will take 10-12 minutes to cook.

rainy day
Mac - Topshop / Top - Primark / Jeans - Miss Selfridge / Boots - Topshop
Please excuse the windswept shots, these literally where the best ones out off the bunch. I'm channelling the iconic windswept look amazingly aren't I? No? Well I am still in practise mode, so don't judge me, or do, whatever trevor! I had to grab my opportunity as down in these ends it rained N-O-N-S-T-O-P all Sunday. It calmed down for approx 3 minutes though, so volia, you are now the proud eye recipients of this awkward shoot.
Anyway
I managed to get out of my painting duties, again, this weekend. You see we have been in our house just over a year now, and I still haven't painted the skirting in the hallway {you see my domain is the decorating and Si's is, well, everything else} I just can't bring myself to do it. Si had enough of me reeling of every excuse in the book of why I couldn't do it. {but Si we don't have any masking tape - yes we do Suz. But I am the worst painter in the world - No you're not, you've done a good job painting the rest of the house. but I'm desperate for a shower, and I smell and need to wash my hair, blah blah - PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME DO IT} So instead I spent 3 hours, yes 3 hours spring cleaning the whole house, top to bottom whilst Si got on painting the stairs. Phew, I got out of that one then.

the moment
It was nearly 2 years ago when we went away for a 2 week holiday that everything changed between us. I had been told that this holiday would make or break us, as a couple. At this point we had been 'back together' for just over a year, and our relationship was going from strength to strength.
When you live and breathe every moment with just one person for 17 days {yes we got an extra few days due to the ash cloud-thank you} it really does change how you feel about someone. The holiday was a breeze. We grew together as a couple and for the first time I could really see a future with this boy. Away from the hassles of work, social commitments and travelling to see each other, we were 100% focused on each other and with no distractions. I fully understand that this could have been a disaster, but you do really learn so much more about each other when you're taken out of the real world.
My friends where right: this holiday was the making of us. We had unexpectedley gone to the next step in our relationship {as they say} and decided to start looking for a place together {and the rest is history...}
Does anyone have that defining moment in their relationship, either good or bad?

Brighton is so gorgeous when the sun is out, and a walk along the seafront is always in order. It's got me so excited for spring now {hurry, hurry]
Hope everyone's weekend was tremend!
